October's Midday

Written October 14, 2022 @ 3:51 pm.

It's Midday October on a cold Friday...the city bus

lingers with the smell of tongues and cheap

booze filled in Gatorade bottles...my heart

makes silent prayers for the woman traveling

alone...I was greeted with a charming yet

drunken salutation from the middle-aged

midday sad and lonely men seated in the

middle of the bus that carried Disney graphic

backpacks and sagging back pockets revealing

Hanes undergarments... my stomach is empty,

sticking to itself, but I'm digesting the appetite

of life... I have seen a young girl carrying a bag full of

Flamin' Hot snacks...that stuff with the red dye...

when we are used to our comfort zone and normal reality of routine

it's like producing an ulcer on the lining of our stomach when

it's time to make a change... we flip the bird when we feel

unheard, but rather we are impaired to the

ability to be aware...

take a trip to the

space of the unknown...

You'll never know until you go

Stay right where you are

And keep dreams about going far

Midday October...it's up to you to get closer
