Rhythms of Rain

Written September 2, 2022 @ 10:35 pm.

The thunder rolls
around in the sky
like microwave popcorn

I remember seasons of drought
and other times when my
Sin brought the storm

I sit in bed, awake
bralettes, bare skin,
blankets and anklets

The rain creeps down
one droplet at a time
until it forms a full shower

Cleansing power
Serpents devoured
Almighty King is exalted

And empowered
organizing prayer boxes
reading through requests

Hoping that the rain would bring
clarity to mess
or understanding of what's next

...

This journey comes in waves
The rain taught me how to surf
The sky went silent

Twisting curls
Swallowing spit
The dark night carries on

Lost and Found
been through trials
I made my way back Home

Heartbeat slow
a steady Rhythm
Deep breaths give back time

The night is young
The days get old
But who can touch the stars?

The wind beneath my wings
Have spread with joy
I hear the street of noise

Pots and Pans
and garbage cans
do you still play with toys?

I've walked around
with highs and Lows
Thank God, He kept my crown

Tired eyes read blurred lines
distorted visions
lights flicker, life needs fixture

Shine golden
Brightly amazed
the sun comes out after it rains

Need refreshing
Thankful for lessons
In preparation for testing

It's thick in the quiet
damp in the smog
an awareness of Presence

One Higher Than All
I see a glimmer in the shimmer
cold, goosebumps, shiver me timbers

...

Shea butter sheets
back scratches, toe crackings
what's the currency to be?

Currently the urgency
For souls to heal
I need you and me...Free

Police sirens
serve and protect
or injustice and neglect?

The world is changing now
need more than mirrors
to reflect

Vanity and insanity
oppression I object
Your Honor, pardon me

No memories controlling me
but molding me
Into shapes I did not know

The blaring of the silence
keeps you aware and alert
Humility is clothing me; sit tight; it won't hurt

pain that caused the drama
and the trauma
now is Gone

So thankful that
I made it safe
I made my way back Home.
